Las Vegas Ophthalmology Practice Welcomes New Cornea Specialist
Dr. Ksenia Stafeeva joins Dr. Helga Pizio and the other members of New Eyes in Southern Nevada as the practice’s new cornea specialist.
Las Vegas, NV – Dr. Helga F. Pizio, founder of the Las Vegas LASIK and ophthalmology practice New Eyes, is welcoming a new cornea specialist to her team of eye doctors in Southern Nevada. Dr. Ksenia Stafeeva is the latest addition to New Eyes as the practice expands its staff of vision care professionals to meet a range of needs for patients.
New Eyes recently consolidated with Drs. Paul Hiss, Doug Devries, and Todd Hartman (formerly of Eye Care Associates of Nevada in Las Vegas and Henderson) as part of the practice’s new growth strategy. Dr. Pizio says Dr. Stafeeva’s skills and expertise will contribute greatly to New Eyes’s mission of providing increasingly better care to Las Vegas eye care patients.
Dr. Stafeeva, who is bilingual in Russian and English, graduated with honors from Gannon University in Erie, PA and then earned a masters degree from Drexel University, where she remained to complete her medical degree at the Drexel University College of Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Stafeeva was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical School Honor Society.
Following her ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado, Dr. Stafeeva completed her training in advanced corneal/ocular surface disease and refractive surgery at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California-Los Angeles. As a specialist in diseases and conditions affecting the cornea, Dr. Stafeeva’s main focus at New Eyes will be on performing advanced corneal treatments such as transplantation, pterygium surgery, and other procedures. Additionally, Dr. Stafeeva is also experienced with advanced cataract surgery, secondary lens implantation, intraocular lens exchange, ocular surface reconstructive surgeries, and refractive surgery procedures.
Dr. Stafeeva says she is excited to start seeing patients at New Eyes beginning September 1, 2013. She adds that she hopes to be able to contribute a unique set of abilities to the well-established practice, and she feels she can help fulfill New Eyes’ mission by providing an optimal level of care for each and every patient.
